Pan-Fried Vegan Gyoza

You can’t sell the cow and drink the milk, but you can keep the cow and eat gyoza! Juicy on the inside, crispy golden brown on the outside, this Japanese pan-fried dumpling is loved by many. Yield: 20 gyoza


Gyoza skin

  • 20 store-bought gyoza wrappers
  • Filtered water

Frying gyoza

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • ¼ cup filtered water
  • 1 tsp roasted sesame oil 

Dipping sauce

Preparation Method:

  1. In a large bowl, mix all gyoza filling ingredients and seasonings together until evenly mixed.
  2. Take a wrapper and place it in the palm of your non-dominant hand. Add 1 heaped teaspoon of filling to the centre of the dumpling wrapper.
  3. Brush the edges with water and fold the dumpling creating hand fan pattern or any patterns as desired (make sure to seal the seams without any air pockets).
  4. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the gyoza and fry for 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are nicely-browned.
  5. Pour in about ¼ cup of water and cover with a lid. Steam for 7-8 minutes or until the water has evaporated.
  6. Drizzle sesame oil around the pan and further pan-fried until the gyoza is nice and crispy on the bottom.
  7. Transfer to a plate and serve gyoza with readily mixed dipping sauce.

  • 20 现成饺子皮
  • 过滤水 




  • 1 汤匙烹饪油
  • ¼ 杯过滤水
  • 1 茶匙烤芝麻油 



  1. 在一个大碗里,将所有饺子馅料的食材及调味料混合均匀。
  2. 取一片饺子皮放在您的非惯用手掌上。在饺子皮的中心加入一茶匙的饺子馅料。
  3. 用水沾湿饺子皮的边缘,并折叠成扇子形或任何你想要的形状。折叠过程中请确保接缝处封紧且饺子内无任何气泡。
  4. 以中火加热平底锅里的油,依次排入饺子再煎个2至3分钟或直到饺子底部呈棕褐色。
  5. 之后,倒入约¼ 杯过滤水并盖上锅盖让饺子蒸煮7至8 分钟或直到水完全蒸发。
  6. 在锅里淋上芝麻油,继续煎至饺子的底部变脆。
  7. 把饺子放入盘中搭配已准备好的饺子沾酱一同享用。
