Q: Hi, my son 2 years old now, is this product suitable for him?
A: Biogreen O’Kid Oatmilk is high in protein, dietary fibre and calcium, which is required for optimal growth, supporting bowel health and strengthening teeth and bone density. Beta-glucan from oats may help to boost defences of the immune system against bacteria, fungi, viruses as well as reduce asthma risk in children. The added oligosaccharide serves as prebiotic to promote growth of friendly bacteria in the gut, which is linked to better immunity in children. This product also free from dairy milk, therefore suitable for toddlers and children above 1 year old and those with lactose intolerance or allergic to cow’s milk protein.
Q: Is this product suitable for kids with G6PD deficiency?
A: G6PD is a type of enzyme present in all our body cells to help metabolize glucose for energy. The lack of this enzyme affects our body functions, including oxidative balance. Oxidative stress can result from infection and from chemical exposure to medication or certain foods. For example, fava beans contain high levels of vicine, divicine, convicine and isouramil, all of which create oxidants and causes hemolytic anemia (red blood cells to break). Other legumes do not contain such compounds and hence it is safe for consumption.
Biogreen O’Kid Oatmilk does not contain fava beans and is therefore suitable for moderate consumption by children with G6PD deficiency.
Q: Is this product contain GMO or eggs?
A: Biogreen upholds the principle of providing only natural and organic foods for our customers, therefore please be assured that all Biogreen products are free from genetically modified ingredients or formulation. Biogreen O’Kid Oatmilk is also dairy- and egg-free, the lecithin is derived from soya instead of egg yolks.
Q: Is this product suitable for my son who is allergic to soy?
A: No. It is not advisable as Biogreen O’Kid Oatmilk contains soya protein.
