Harmony Living with Earth

Our planet, the Earth is a wonderful place gifted by God. The Earth is a complex ecosystem where living organisms interact with each other to create a harmony and ideal environment for life. The Earth provides food and shelter as well as medicine to human beings, plants and animals. The International Earth day began in 1970 and is celebrated every year on 22nd April. It is now celebrated in more than 193 countries each year. Earth day is important to raise the public awareness and appreciation of the Earth with its biodiversity.

Due to human activities such as deforestation, industrialization, agricultural activities and littering, the Earth has been threatened at an alarming rate.

Approximately 1.9 billion tons of litter being dumped in the ocean every  year
More than 1 million seabirds and 100,000 sea mammals died due to  pollution every year

Currently, the rainforest only covered 6% of the earth’s land surface and  experts estimate that the remaining rainforests could be used up in less  than 40 years

 Do not litter

Many of the fish or endangered animals in the oceans lost their  homes and food resources due to sewage and trash we produced

 Reduce, reuse and recycle

Reduce the use of plastic bags and always bring your recycle bag

 Go for organic

Choosing organic produce can helps to reduce the use of chemicals or  pesticides that harm the biodiversity

 Utilize natural cleaning agent

Remove stain using baking soda or vinegar to clean sanitary ware or  floors are more environmental-friendly

 Use public transport or car-pooling

These practices can reduce the emission of exhaust fumes from car  engine, thereby help to reduce the air pollution

 Get engaged in environmental-friendly activities

Join any local group that undertakes activities help to protect the  environment such as clean up litter or install community gardens
