A, B, Cs of HIV/AIDS
Around 100,000 are currently living with HIV in Malaysia and globally an estimated 34 million people have HIV (PLHIV). United Nations recently reported that Malaysia is one of the ten countries which together accounted for 95 percent of all new HIV infections in the Asia-Pacific region. Every day almost 10 Malaysians are diagnosed HIV positive. When left untreated, HIV may progress to the last stage of infection, known as AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). To date, AIDS has taken away the lives of more than 13,000 Malaysians.
